![]() Are Soy Candles Really That Much Better? When my younger brother got married, I volunteered to host a Halloween-themed rehearsal dinner at my house. It was a fun party to plan, with a whole lot of black-on-black everything! But the most transformative decision I made was to light the entire party by candlelight. It “set the mood” in a way that nothing else could have. In fact, whenever I’m looking to create an atmosphere for just about anything - my first thoughts always go to candles! There’s no light as soothing (or flattering!) as candlelight. Whether scented or unscented, candles create a feeling of relaxation or nostalgia in us all. But, with so many candle choices out there, does it really matter which one you pick? Are soy candles really that much better than paraffin? The short answer? Yes! Here’s the long one: When I was first researching our Best-Selling line of candles at The Freckled Peddler, I was curious about the soy vs. paraffin debate. Here’s what I found out: Soy wax is derived from the soybean and is a hydrogenated vegetable oil that turns to a solid at room temperature. It contains nothing artificial and is non-toxic and clean-burning. Unlike paraffin, soy does not release dangerous carcinogens (a substance capable of causing cancer) into the air. In fact, soy wax is classified as a clean-burning fuel source; meeting many of the requirements under federal regulations. It also produces as much as 90% less soot than paraffin. In a nutshell, soy candles are cleaner and more natural. If that isn’t convincing enough for you (really, you’re not convinced?), here’s a few more reasons to buy soy:
So what’s the takeaway? Go buy some soy candles!! Not only will you keep the air in your home cleaner, but you’ll help the environment AND the American farmer! I think that’s pretty cool (or is it warm?)! Please check out our Best-Selling Line of Soy candles and Wax Melts at: The Freckled Peddler All-Natural Soy Candles

So very true..I have such a problem with candles burning, they COMPLETELY stuff my nose up, therefore I stopped buying candles a long time ago, then at Thanksgiving time I was given a Tennessee Christmas scented candle from the Freckled Peddler, which smelled wonderful...and I had no problems at all. Thank you cousin, who ownes this amazing store, for that wonderful candle.
